In 1978, Pastor Johan Landman initiated Evangelism Explosion (EE) in Pretoria, South Africa, starting with a Leadership Training Clinic for 40 pastors and church leaders. This program has since expanded, with thousands of clinics conducted, equipping tens of thousands more leaders. The positive response led EE to spread across more than 1,000 in South Africa.

Evangelism Explosion (EE) has translated training materials into all 11 official languages of South Africa, allowing training in any language. Currently, 750 churches implement this training, impacting over 30,000 individuals annually. Established in 1979, Rev. Harold Peasley served as the first Executive Director, fostering significant growth during his 17-year leadership. The organization, committed to the Great Commission, has expanded its training efforts to neighboring countries and played a vital role in introducing EE to Thailand and Russia. After Rev. Nico Van Wyk's leadership, the ministry is now guided by Sophy Masilo.
